Tenneco Software Engineer interview experience

They asked me how well I understood materials science and how I handled material selection.

There were two rounds. First, I did a phone screen with HR, and then I met with three engineers plus the senior engineering manager in the second round. The whole thing was light-hearted and felt friendly instead of overly intense.

I didn’t get an offer, but it didn’t feel like I was being judged harshly. It felt like a conversation about my fundamentals and my background, and that made the experience comfortable even though the final result wasn’t positive.
