My interviews leaned heavily into systems and data infrastructure rather than just typical coding puzzles.

One technical step included two coding problems—one around sorting and another involving tree-related work—and the remote platform they used felt pretty bad, which made the workflow more annoying than I expected.

I also had to deal with networking and database-scale thinking. I remember being prompted to cover internet fundamentals like three-way handshake and TCP/IP concepts, then design a model for how a large database would be accessed. The evaluation didn’t stop at syntax; it felt like it wanted correctness and conceptual grounding.
