The first interview was with the hiring manager.

He didn’t ask much and mostly stayed high-level and general; he wasn’t very technical, and I walked away feeling like it went well. The very next day I got a rejection email.

I didn’t receive an offer, and the speed combined with how little technical discussion happened left me feeling uneasy about the decision process. My honest reflection was that it didn’t feel consistent with how the initial conversation played out, so it was hard not to wonder what really drove the outcome.
