I went through what sounded like a full onsite loop with five rounds, and even though the recruiter and earlier parts of the process were positive, the onsite experience soured quickly.

The interviews included coding work similar to the phone screen (implementing a function with a few parts), then bug squash, behavioral, a system design round, and an integration-focused round. The recruiter was responsive and helpful, and the engineer I spoke with felt friendly.

On the onsite, the organization felt off and the overall energy was hostile toward success. At one point, an interviewer for the integration round didn’t even show up, and the way some of the system design discussion went felt like they were searching for something missing rather than testing coherent tradeoffs.
