My experience started like a straightforward application, but it quickly became frustrating.

I submitted my CV and cover letter through an online form, and it was clear from the way the documents were worded that I needed the right training level. I waited more than a month without hearing anything, so I reached out to the professor directly to ask about my status and continued interest.

The reply was unexpectedly blunt and didn’t reflect what I’d already provided—basically a quick dismissal that I somehow didn’t meet the requirement, even though I had the degree they implied I lacked. The whole interaction felt discouraging, and I never made it past that point into a real interview
