Spotify Full Stack Engineer interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I started with a recruiter call, and we kept it fairly high level—what the role would focus on and what kinds of rounds I should expect.

The conversation made it clear I wasn’t just walking into coding problems; there would be domain discussion and some form of technical testing early on.

After that, my first real technical conversation centered on coding plus the backend/domain angle. I was asked questions that felt rooted in practical experience, not just theory, and I worked through a coding exercise that matched the LeetCode-style format I’d been hearing about. Overall, it felt like they were trying to gauge both how I think through problems and how familiar I was with the kinds of systems I’d be building day to day.
