The process I went through put a heavy emphasis on practical programming basics early on.

I was questioned on fundamentals in Java and Python, and there was also an expectation that I understood cloud computing at least at a conceptual level. They didn’t just ask theory either—they also asked about correct syntax across programming languages, so I had to stay precise.

From there, the interview felt like it was trying to confirm I could translate knowledge into working code patterns rather than just talk at a high level. Because those questions were foundational, it made the round feel less like a DSA contest and more like an assessment of day-to-day engineering readiness.
