I went through four rounds with different hiring managers, and the questions were pretty basic.

The process felt like it was designed to be low-drama and more about fit than anything dramatic—at least that’s how it was presented.

There was also a role play at the end with two managers. The vibe wasn’t “gotcha” at all; it felt more like they wanted to see whether my experience aligned with Shopify and whether I genuinely wanted to work there.

I didn’t receive an offer. My reflection was that the process matched the tone I was told to expect—straightforward and not adversarial—but the bar for getting to the end still wasn’t something I cleared.
