I interviewed for a senior frontend engineer position and the sequence was straightforward: three technical rounds, then a managerial round.

The technical portion covered multiple areas, and the pace felt like it was testing both my depth and how I could talk through tradeoffs.

One thing that stood out to me during the discussions was that they relied on an internal framework rather than widely used open-source tools. That made parts of the conversation feel more context-dependent, because the interviewer expectations were tied to their internal approach.

I didn’t get an offer. Even though the process itself was fairly standard, the internal-framework angle was the clearest thing that differentiated it from frontend interviews
