I was contacted by a recruiter for a Senior Software Engineer position in Bangalore, and the first round was scheduled over Zoom with two panelists.

It was a one-hour coding challenge, and I felt like it went fine during the session.

The surprise came immediately after: the same day I received an email from the recruiter informing me I’d been rejected. Even though it was quick, I did feel good about the overall process because it moved fast and I was kept informed about the steps. It was a very short journey with only that first major interview.

In the end I didn’t get an offer. The most honest takeaway for me was that the speed made it feel efficient, but it also left almost no time to understand what was missing after the coding round.
