Roku Software Engineer interview experience

There weren’t any clear DS-and-algorithms rounds, and instead I got random coding questions that depended heavily on the interviewer.

Even the design round didn’t feel well-defined; I struggled to understand what they were actually looking for. After the design interview, I received very good feedback, which made the rejection even harder to swallow.

Later I learned they went with another candidate who apparently delivered a better design. I was rejected, and my reflection was that the pipeline felt inconsistent and unclear, and the lack of clarity made the result feel arbitrary.
