Recruiter outreach was supposed to be my first step, but it turned into a frustrating mess.

I shared my availability, then heard nothing back for a while. When I followed up after my time slots had already passed, I gave fresh availability, and the call was scheduled—but the recruiter didn’t show up. When I emailed again, the recruiter called me nearly 40 minutes later.

The call started with things that sounded like they hadn’t reviewed my background closely—questions and assumptions that didn’t fit, plus comments that suggested they often don’t hire from certain experience types. It just made the whole process feel wasteful before I had even gotten into any real interview content.
