What the process looks like, and what Roblox is really testing for.
Roblox uses an assessment-first pipeline, where many candidates complete an online assessment described as lasting up to three hours, and it is followed by recruiter screening for some paths. The assessment includes coding and probability or logic-based “games,” and some candidates also complete a Roblox client download to finish tasks, so you should expect parts of the process to feel game-like rather than purely interview-like.
Across the roles covered in the data, the loop heavily tests system design and SQL, and it also shows up as prominent topics: machine learning (concept), onboarding (FTUX/FTUE), UX/UI product design, financial analysis, experiment design (A/B testing), and recommendation systems. You are also tested on problem solving and communication, with stakeholder management, cross-functional communication, and project management appearing as important themes.
After interviews, some candidates report a deep-dive or leadership-oriented portion, and at least one reported step is a final executive review. The overall offer rate in the candidate reports is 1.4%, and the difficulty distribution is mostly medium and hard, so you should plan to perform strongly in both the timed, logic and coding parts and the later technical reasoning, not just pass the assessment.
The online assessment is not just a warm-up, it is a major gate in the process. Multiple reports describe game-like tasks and timing pressure, and the most common difficulty drivers in reports are assessment performance and then higher bar once system design or hard DSA appears.
