Rippling Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Positive

Posted Sep 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I ended up in a multi-company scenario where Rippling offered me a senior role after I’d been downleveled from staff based on behavioral performance.

The coding at Rippling didn’t feel like classic LeetCode; instead, it leaned more toward writing clean code and using OOP-style abstractions.

The interview stages moved through coding, then system design, then behavioral. I didn’t get specific questions shared, but I did receive prep guidance as part of the process. Even with the uncertainty that comes from being downleveled, I walked away with the offer and a clearer sense that the evaluation criteria were different from what I expected.
