I went into Rippling for the SDE 2 role with a process that felt coding-heavy and focused on data structures and algorithms.

The questions I remember were very specific and practical-feeling—Median of Two Sorted Arrays, a maximize conversion problem over two days, and a bounding-box question involving connected houses in a ragged grid.

During the interview, the discussion didn’t stop at the solution. The interviewer probed into time complexity, edge cases, and the tradeoffs behind the optimizations I was considering. It was definitely demanding and I left feeling like I’d been pushed on the details, not just the final code. I was rejected afterward.
