Chicago, ILPosted Jan 2017 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Consultant role through an extensive, multi-week sequence that ended positively at first—then the offer was rescinded after a late-stage budget decision.

Group interview — I started with a group format as the first of three successful interview steps.
1-on-1 interview — I followed with an individual conversation that left me feeling confident.
2-on-1 interview — I met again in a longer format and still felt ready to be hired.
Hiring loop with multiple leaders — Over about five weeks, I met several leaders and a manager. Outcome: Offer rescinded; even when the process feels complete, last-minute business decisions can abruptly change the outcome.
