I interviewed for a Consultant role with a phone-first start and then an in-person step, but the tone varied from generic and promising to outright disrespectful.

Phone interview: salary + expectations + basics — I had a recruiter chat covering what I knew about the company, my motivation, and my salary/work hour expectations.
In-person interview with designers — I met designers in the gallery and felt a strong connection with an organic conversation.
Alternative phone + in-person round with bias — In another attempt, I faced a condescending, opinionated interview and felt stereotyped during the in-person stage. Outcome: No offer; even with some promising conversations, other parts of the process didn’t result in selection.
