Renesas Software Engineer interview experience

It was for a power engineering position, so the questions were very applied.

On the onsite, I was asked how I would design a buck converter, which was the kind of open, technical problem that immediately sets the bar. The session also included the usual introduction and self-intro type questions, plus a chance to ask questions back.

The difficulty felt average—technical but not chaotic. I felt like the interview was really testing whether I could explain engineering reasoning clearly, not just recite formulas.
