Fairfax, VAPosted Jan 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I ran into a mostly asynchronous, video-first hiring flow that felt impersonal and left me without clear closure.

Pre-screen: asynchronous video interview — I was sent an online, prerecorded video interview to explain why I fit the role; it felt disconnected because I didn’t know who would be viewing it, or whether my responses were even considered.
Waiting / next step — In my case, I either never got a live conversation or I heard nothing for a while, even after I sensed manager interest.
In-person (only for some) / follow-up — One version included a later in-person interview after the video step; overall the experience still felt dehumanizing or “hands-off.” Outcome: I didn’t move
