I reached Ramp’s frontend live-coding stage for the Software Engineer role, and it was uniquely difficult because the evaluation strongly emphasized raw speed within a short, tight window.

Prereq (capture-the-flag take home) — Before the frontend live round, I had to pass a CTF-style take-home challenge.
Frontend live coding — The 1-hour session started with a long, text-only description of a React app to build, with minimal/no time for questions at the end. The guidance implied that speed was the key differentiator, and even if the coding task seemed manageable, the pacing pressure made it feel hard. Outcome: I didn’t get the job; the takeaway is that this round tested how fast I could execute under constraints more than deep iteration or collaboration.
