I actually got my start by networking to connect with the inside sales manager, and that led to a phone call where I walked through my past work and why I wanted to join.

That conversation ended with homework: I was given content to learn over the weekend, with the plan to go deeper when I came on site.

A few days later, I went on site and it felt like a very sales-simulated day. I presented a demo based on what I’d been asked to study, role-played a sales call using an article I’d been given, and also talked with someone currently on the inside sales team. Then about two to three days after that, I got an invitation for a Skype interview with the VP of inside sales while the broader sales org was training elsewhere.
