After applying online through PSEG’s website, I waited about three weeks and then was invited to a face-to-face interview at a training center in Somerset, NJ.

Two engineers took turns asking questions, and the interview felt structured into two parts that moved in sequence.

First came the behavioral portion. They asked how I would approach problems, what personal experiences I’d had, and they required responses in a STAR format. There were three of those prompts. After I finished the behavioral questions, they gave me two technical questions where they actually handed over a schematic to read and decipher, including the idea of making design changes to an existing electrical control/power system.
