I interviewed online after being contacted without clear company identification, and the discussion made it clear the opportunity was built around insurance sales and fees.

Online interview — They heavily referenced a Merrill Lynch connection, then positioned the business as a pyramid-style insurance sales setup; they discussed an upfront and monthly fee to stay, and they asked for friends/family information for early sales where I would “learn to sell.” Outcome: No offer—the takeaway was that it felt misleading for a finance-oriented internship and not worth the cost/incentives.
