I went through a manager-led “interview” that felt inappropriate and quickly turned into an MLM-like pitch over about one meeting.

Manager interview — The manager pressed me for personal details like where I was born and how big my family is, even after I showed discomfort and asked why they needed that information; it then pivoted to their recruiting stance that they prefer people with no financial background and a discussion of their business model. Outcome: No offer—I walked away feeling the process was structured more like a sales/networking scheme than a finance hiring screen.
