I went through a difficult multi-phase process that started with motivation and background checks, then added managerial layers.

Phase 1 (entry screening) — It began easy, assessing motivation, background, and career expectations.
Phase 2 (Business Manager) — I met with a Business Manager who was described as technically capable.
Phase 3 (Project Manager) — The final step was with a Project Manager. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, and my takeaway was that the process added increasing structure and stakeholder involvement.
