I went through a difficult one-hour technical interview where the coding portion pushed for an optimized solution I couldn’t fully reach on time.

Technical interview (1 hour) — The first 30 minutes were an experience/fit chat, and the second half was coding in Google Docs.
Coding task — I was asked a “Russian doll envelope” style problem; I produced a working brute-force-ish approach, but the interviewer wanted the optimized method. Outcome: Not selected; I left feeling the gap was optimization under time pressure rather than basic correctness.
