I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a friendly team and a mild miscommunication around a code review preparation.

Recruiter phone screen — I started with an initial phone screening.
Meeting with two team leaders (code walk-through) — We reviewed code I had written.
Code review prep expectation (missed instruction) — I was expected to prepare code for review, but I wasn’t told to bring material; the interviewers were understanding and friendly. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, and the takeaway was that even with scheduling/prep confusion, the interviewers’ attitude helped it stay constructive.
