My first interview was with the hiring manager.

We talked through typical CV and background questions, and it felt more like a screening conversation than a technical evaluation.

After that, I was rejected without any explanation or feedback. Honestly, that surprised me—without any discussion of technical skills, it felt like a pretty opinionated decision. I left thinking the process was strange because it didn’t give me much of a chance to show what I could do technically.
