My machine coding round was a big, timed block that started with about 2 hours to write code for a larger problem statement.

After I submitted, I had a further 30 to 45 minutes of discussion with the interviewer focused on coding standards and the kinds of mistakes that commonly show up.

The difficulty was difficult, and even though the structure was straightforward, it demanded careful implementation and then the ability to talk through what I’d done and why. I didn’t get an offer, but the round itself felt like it tested more than just whether the code worked—it tested discipline in how I wrote and explained the solution.
