I interviewed for this Software Engineer role and ran into a major red flag in the process: an indemnity agreement requirement that I declined.

Initial technical round + HR — I cleared an initial stage that led to an HR discussion.
Indemnity agreement gate — Before proceeding, I was asked to sign an indemnity clause tied to a percentage of fixed CTC if I didn’t join or refused later interview steps.
Decision outcome — Because I didn’t want to commit to paying in that scenario, I politely declined and didn’t continue to the client technical rounds. Outcome: I didn’t proceed further after refusing the indemnity agreement; the requirement was a clear deal-breaker for me.
