Washington, DCPosted May 2019 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a very difficult, high-conflict interview-and-offer experience where negotiating led to the offer being pulled.

Multiple recruiter interviews — after applying, I was interviewed by a recruiter for a sales-manager-type track and progressed through several steps.
Offer with major terms change — when an offer came in, the salary dropped significantly from the original figure, and the role expectations shifted toward assistant-manager style duties.
Negotiation → rescinded offer — I negotiated, but the offer was immediately rescinded afterward. Outcome: I didn’t receive the job; the takeaway was that negotiating mattered, and that the final comp/schedule terms could change abruptly
