OpenAI Software Engineer interview experience

I went through four interviews plus the take-home, and then ended with a final interview with the hiring manager. Realistically, it could’ve been completed in a few weeks, but it still dragged enough that it felt longer than it needed to be.

The questions themselves felt relatively standard for the kind of role, just distributed across a lot of steps. I didn’t end up getting an offer, and what I remember most was how much time the format consumed compared to the typical pace I’ve experienced elsewhere.
