I applied online and then basically got ghosted, so I reached out to reconnect with a recruiter.

They did a screen, and the interview ended up being straightforward.

The technical part leaned on easy LeetCode-style coding plus a standard system design discussion. I didn’t feel lost or unprepared during the coding. Where it fell apart was the system design round—the interviewer didn’t seem to like me, and that translated into a rejection.

Even though the technical difficulty didn’t feel extreme, the decision hinged more on interpersonal fit in that round, and that was frustrating because the coding portion went smoothly.
