OpenAI Software Engineer interview experience

The problems were very challenging dynamic programming questions, and I couldn’t make progress on any of them.

The timing also made it sting: a few days later I was rejected, and the questions were even difficult to fully understand. My overall impression was that the process seemed to reward people who already proved themselves through competitions, and I didn’t have that kind of edge.

I didn’t have a good experience, mainly because the tasks didn’t feel accessible enough for me to demonstrate problem-solving in a fair way.
