After moving to an online assessment, I was given two very hard questions over a two-hour window.

I didn’t feel like either problem was something I could confidently reason through to a solution.

The questions were so challenging that I wasn’t sure what approach they even expected. Afterward, I tried looking for help by using AI to see if a solution existed, but it still couldn’t find an answer.

I was rejected a short time later. What bothered me most was the uncertainty—when the prompts don’t feel solvable in the first place, it makes the whole evaluation process feel disconnected from the kind of problem solving I’m used to.
