I got pulled in through a fairly direct route after applying through a university job board.

I was accepted for an interview a couple days later, and it started with a single conversation with one of their engineers. The questions began with basics about me and then shifted into straightforward behavioral questions.

A key part of the process for me was how the team lead and HR were handled together in the in-person stage. In that setting, I spent time with the team lead and department head where they asked standard questions but also went after technical skills in more detail. Then I met with HR, and that conversation was mostly about compensation and benefits.
