Ocado Group Software Engineer interview experience

The first part focused on discussing my relevant experience, and then the second part shifted into a monitored assessment of my technical ability.

That assessment stood out because it was heavy and very controlled—there were twenty questions and the interviewer watched to make sure there was no cheating. The whole format felt less like a conversation and more like an exam setting, which made it difficult to relax.

In the end, I didn’t receive an offer, but the process itself was clear about what they wanted to test: both my background and my ability to perform under observation.
