I realized pretty early that what I was being pitched didn’t feel like a normal finance internship.

The recruiting felt more like they were trying to pull me in than actually interview me, and I eventually recognized it as a scam dynamic.

The path they outlined was basically about selling life insurance to friends and family. Once I understood that was the real goal behind the conversations, it stopped feeling like I was being evaluated for a financial role and started feeling like I was being positioned to market to my personal circle. Honestly, that realization changed my whole attitude toward the process right away.
