The whole thing was pretty fast, which I noticed right away.

It didn’t feel like a drawn-out gauntlet, but the reason it moved quickly was also part of what made me uneasy.

The role came across as primarily commission-based, with some bonuses on the side. Because of that structure, I ended up feeling like it wasn’t the best fit for me at the time, even though the interview itself didn’t seem overly demanding. I didn’t receive an offer, and my reflection afterward was that speed and friendliness didn’t outweigh the bigger issue: the compensation model meant I would be taking on a lot of variability that I wasn’t comfortable with then.
