Northwestern Mutual Financial Analyst interview experience

Negative

Chicago, ILPosted Apr 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I walked into this process expecting a normal sales-related role, but the experience I heard about and the way it was described felt intense and relentlessly sales-driven.

The model came across as commission-only, with constant pressure to sell—right down to the expectation to sell to friends and family.

Training was described as solid, and the process sounded organized, but it also felt like I’d be building the business more than my own career. The overall tone and the emphasis on sales pressure made it feel like the environment would be hard to sustain.

I didn’t receive an offer, and I left with a very strong negative impression. Honestly, the dynamic they described was enough to make me want to run in the other direction.
