I didn’t make it past the first HR interview.

The process began with a screening call with HR where we aligned on conditions and scheduling.

After that, I joined a 45-minute HR interview with an engineering manager. It was mostly the kind of conversation that evaluates fit and expectations rather than pushing into heavy technical depth.

It ended with a rejection, and the main feeling I left with was that the gatekeeping happened early—no chance to prove more technical areas after the first screening.
