I started with a fairly brief recruiter conversation.

It felt tense right away because the recruiter came across as unusually harsh about my background and experience, to the point where I genuinely wondered why the outreach had happened at all.

Once I explained that I was mostly trying to learn about NetSuite and understand how I could succeed there, the tone shifted. The conversation turned into a sales pitch, and I was fed a set of vague, standout sales growth numbers that didn’t really connect back to anything we’d discussed about my fit. It left me pretty disinterested, and I declined the next steps almost immediately.
