Pasadena, CAPosted May 2021 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Software Engineer internship track through a mentor-based phone screen, and the difficulty was easy and highly project-focused, with a fast turnaround.

Casual mentor phone interview — A short, relaxed call where the mentor talked about themselves and the internship project, and I discussed my background, interests, and the projects I’d worked on.
Project readiness step — After the call, I submitted a small code portfolio related to the internship project. Outcome: I received an offer within about 0–3 days, and the takeaway was that knowing your internship/project details deeply (and asking strong questions) paid off quickly.
