I was already working as an OLAP consultant, so I wasn’t very worried about the technicalities going in.

The recruiter contacted me first, and then I talked to about five people total—two technical fellows plus an engagement manager, and later a regional manager. The first four conversations were phone-based, and the last meeting happened in person downtown. I ended up arriving about five minutes late because of traffic and parking, and that small delay ended up dominating the tone of the regional manager’s interaction.

During the in-person meeting, the regional manager came across as very sales-driven, with messaging that felt more like a pitch than a genuine conversation about me or my fit.
