My interview started with the usual personal setup: I introduced myself, talked through why I wanted to join MicroStrategy, and answered prompts about what I’d want to improve over the next five years.

I also covered a weakness and shared a hobby. After that, the process switched into an IQ-test style puzzle.

I was given a classic river-crossing scenario with three good guys and three bad guys on one side, all needing to cross in a single boat that could hold two people at a time. The constraint was that the number of good guys could never be less than the bad guys on either side or even on the boat—otherwise the bad guys would eat the good guys. I didn’t work it out during the interview, and it honestly threw me off because I could feel the logic slipping away under pressure.
