Mercor Software Engineer interview experience

It asked questions based on my CV, and the AI responded intelligently enough to pivot depending on what I said.

That adaptability made it feel less scripted than I expected. I wasn’t just answering a checklist—my responses seemed to steer where the conversation went next.

I didn’t get selected, but the interview itself didn’t feel hostile or confusing. The main impression I left with was that the AI could follow along and adjust, which made the experience smoother than a lot of rigid automated interviews.
