Mercor Software Engineer interview experience

Positive

DhakaPosted Mar 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview experience was surprisingly discussion-like even though there wasn’t any human involved—just an AI.

The AI pulled questions from my resume, and instead of feeling like a strict questionnaire, it felt more like a back-and-forth conversation.

The whole process stayed focused on my background, and it didn’t drag into confusing segments. I walked away feeling like the interaction worked better than I expected from an automated format.

I did end up with an offer. Even with that positive result, what surprised me most was how normal it felt; it made the AI approach seem less robotic than I anticipated, especially compared to the more technical, rigid experiences I’ve heard about elsewhere.
