I went through a multi-round Java Backend Developer process that felt organized but stretched my technical depth, especially around SQL and algorithmic thinking.

Phone screen / recruiter — The first round was conversational and set expectations before moving to deeper technical evaluation.
Technical round(s) — I went through two technical interviews assessing core knowledge; interviewers focused on areas like SQL query understanding and dynamic programming.
HR round — I discussed fit and alignment, and the tone was supportive rather than adversarial. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; the takeaway was to treat SQL and DP as first-class topics, not just “nice-to-know” background.
