The first thing I noticed was how senior the interviewers were.

Three senior engineers interviewed me, and the structure was pretty clearly split: an hour-long technical interview and then a half-hour HR segment.

They asked about my courses, school projects, and work experience. After the discussion, they handed me a paper with five programming-related questions and asked me to answer them, with Java knowledge specifically coming up.

It felt like they were testing both what I’d done academically and whether I could handle hands-on programming questions afterward. I ended up getting an offer.
