McAfee QA Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Posted Aug 2012 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

What surprised me about the interview was what it didn’t lean on.

They didn’t spend much time on data structures or algorithms, and it felt like other people I saw go through the process were also hesitant about those areas. Instead, the questions stayed relatively simple and practical.

They asked about programming in languages like Java, C/C++, and Python, but not in a way that went deep into theory or advanced problem solving. The vibe was more about straightforward familiarity than getting tested on heavy fundamentals.
